6. System Architecture and Expansion
Rack System: The main rack (such as the 8120X) and expansion racks are connected via a triple I/O bus, supporting hot-swappable and online module replacement. Each logical slot is equipped with a hot standby maintenance slot to ensure rapid replacement of faulty modules.
Network Topology: Star, chain, ring, and redundant dual-network topologies are supported, enabling long-distance communication (e.g., fiber optic transmission over 20 km) via fiber optic or electrical ports.
Compatibility and Standards: Compliant with IEC 61508 SIL3, TÜV certification, and international certifications such as CE, UL, and FCC, suitable for explosion-proof areas (e.g., Ex i intrinsically safe design).

Emergency Shutdown System (ESD): Collects signals from on-site emergency stop buttons and liquid level switches to trigger safety interlocks.
