The Hydran M2-X transformer monitoring system is an online transformer oil dissolved gas and moisture monitoring device developed by General Electric (GE). As a core solution for GE in the energy sector, this device continuously monitors the content of key gases (such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide, acetylene, and ethylene) and moisture in transformer oil. It provides early warnings of potential faults such as insulation aging and partial discharge, reducing the risk of unplanned power outages and extending transformer lifespan. It monitors dissolved gases (H₂, CO, C₂H₂, C₂H₄, etc.) and moisture content (ppm/%RH) in real time. Combined with IEEE/IEC standard mathematical models, it analyzes transformer operating status and can be expanded to monitor parameters such as top oil temperature, load current, and winding hot spot temperature. It supports integration with Kelman multi-gas DGA devices and Multilin 845 protection relays to achieve simultaneous analysis of chemical and electrical data.
