The T9402 is a 16-channel, 24VDC isolated digital input module from the Rockwell AADvance Safety Instrumented System (SIS) T9000 series. As a safety-rated I/O module, it is specifically designed to acquire discrete (switch-type) signals for applications such as SIL-rated safety interlocks, Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems, and machinery protection loops. It supports simplex, dual, and triple modular redundant (TMR) configurations and serves as a core input I/O unit for the AADvance safety controller. The module collects field signals—including those from 24VDC passive contacts, proximity switches, valve position feedback, and pressure switches—using isolated circuitry for signal conditioning and filtering. It performs local status diagnostics and wire-break detection, then transmits the switch states via the backplane bus to the AADvance processor (T9110). By supporting simplex, dual, and triple (TMR) redundant architectures, the module enables the controller to perform majority voting, thereby preventing spurious trips caused by single-point failures and satisfying the requirements for safety loop voting logic.
