The AIH 3723X is a 32-channel, Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) analog input module with HART pass-through capability, designed for the Triconex Tricon CX Safety Instrumented System (SIS). It is SIL3-certified and intended for high-safety-integrity applications—such as Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems—to acquire 4–20 mA signals from smart field instruments. As an I/O module specifically for the Tricon CX expansion chassis, it utilizes a TMR architecture: three independent channels simultaneously acquire field 4–20 mA analog signals, which are then processed via a “two-out-of-three” (2oo3) voting logic. After signal conditioning and A/D conversion, the data is transmitted to the Tricon CX main processor. The module also features an integrated HART pass-through circuit, allowing HART digital signals to be relayed to an Asset Management System (AMS) without interrupting the safety-critical analog loop, thereby enabling remote configuration and diagnostics of smart instruments. When used with its dedicated Field Termination Assembly (FTA), the module provides channel-level isolation; in the event of a single-channel failure, that channel is automatically isolated, ensuring the safety-critical voting process of the remaining channels remains unaffected.
