From September 8th to 11th, the 23rd China International Investment and Trade Fair (hereinafter referred to as “CIFIT”) was held in Xiamen, Fujian. This conference is expected to attract nearly 100 countries and regions, nearly 1000 merchant groups, and approximately 80000 merchants to participate in the exhibition. CIFIT is committed to creating three major platforms for two-way investment promotion, authoritative information release, and investment trend discussion, and has become one of the most influential international investment events in the world.

On September 9th, ABB Electric China President Zhao Yongzhan was invited to attend the 23rd Green China • Emerging Environmental Protection Industry Forum organized by the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, and delivered a keynote speech titled “Zero Carbon Park: A New Path for Green Transformation and Development of Parks”. In his speech, he focused on ABB’s sustainable development in Huake and future business opportunities in the green field, sharing the path of accelerating the transformation of zero carbon parks through three steps: low-carbon industrial transformation, establishing energy microgrids, and building a green ecosystem. He also explained ABB’s “zero emission vision” low-carbon park demonstration model, pointing out the direction for the transformation of application scenarios such as zero carbon production, zero carbon buildings, and zero carbon transportation.

Zhao Yongzhan, President of ABB Electric China, stated that, From the power generation end to the electricity consumption end, ABB continues to explore and practice in clean energy utilization, energy efficiency optimization, electrification rate improvement, and other aspects, identifying feasible paths to improve energy and operational efficiency for the green transformation of the power, industry, transportation, and infrastructure industries. We build a macro model, gain insights into usage scenarios at the micro level, provide replicable and scalable digital solutions, and use innovative technologies to promote green production and production Lifestyle, working together with customers and partners to share new opportunities under the ‘carbon neutrality’ goal, and write a beautiful future of safety, wisdom, and sustainable development

Sustainable development is an important component of ABB’s goals, running through all aspects of the value chain. ABB’s 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy focuses on empowering a low-carbon society, protecting natural resources, and promoting social progress. The goal is to achieve carbon neutrality in its own operations by 2030, with 80% of its products and solutions being recyclable.

Zhao Yongzhan introduced, “Currently, we have mastered innovative technologies to reduce carbon emissions in parks. Smart energy and asset management technologies are strong support for various parks and buildings to achieve carbon neutrality.” As early as 2019, ABB launched the “Zero Emission Vision” project. The project aims to apply ABB’s various product technologies to achieve the application of new energy generation and energy storage, as well as building automation in ABB’s own facilities, using clean energy to drive production and empower zero emission business operations. At the same time, these pilot solutions will be replicated or extended to customer sites with low-carbon transformation needs, with a deep focus on renewable energy management, park load flexible regulation, and grid demand side response, helping customers and partners achieve their carbon neutrality goals.

After recent efforts, ABB’s production facilities in Beijing, Xiamen, and Xinhui have transformed into “Zero Emission Vision” demonstration bases. For example, ABB Xiamen Industrial Center, the world’s largest manufacturing base, adopts an innovative energy regulation system that integrates the application of new energy generation and energy storage systems. It uses green electricity to drive intelligent manufacturing, becoming a demonstration of smart parks, demand side response of new power systems, and smart microgrids. Through 100000 square meters of rooftop photovoltaic technology, it achieves 50% clean energy substitution for electricity, and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 13400 tons annually.

ABB Xiamen Industrial Center Deploys ABB Ability ™ The ZEE600 smart energy management platform precisely regulates the “source network load storage” of the park. This platform connects to energy facilities such as photovoltaic, energy storage, distribution, HVAC, lighting, and charging stations, optimizes energy management for the entire park, and interfaces with Xiamen Power Supply Company to build a virtual power plant, achieving real-time demand side response.

On September 7th, Wang Jinfu, Vice Governor of Fujian Province, met with representatives of some multinational companies at this year’s CIFIT, and Zhao Yongzhan, President of ABB Electric China, participated in the meeting.

On the evening of September 8th, Zhao Yongzhan was also invited to attend the high-end international forum of this year’s CIFIT – the “Gulangyu Forum”. As a representative of ABB, he conducted exchanges and discussions with various embassies and consulates in China, international investment promotion agencies, foreign trade associations, and representatives of Chinese and foreign enterprises on topics such as sustained investment and sharing of new opportunities for international cooperation.

ABB is one of the earliest multinational enterprises to participate in China’s modernization process. On September 8, 1992, ABB and its Chinese partners reached a cooperation intention and signed an investment agreement at the Investment and Trade Fair. In the same year, ABB’s first joint venture in China was officially established in Xiamen. After 31 years of rapid development, ABB has invested approximately 19 billion yuan in China, with comprehensive business activities such as research and development, manufacturing, sales, and engineering services, as well as 27 local enterprises. Looking ahead, ABB will strategically layout in key areas such as digitization, artificial intelligence, industrial internet, intelligent manufacturing, smart energy, smart transportation, and smart cities, seizing the opportunities of China’s low-carbon and high-quality economic development.
