The PCD235B1101 (3BHE032025R1101) is the PEC80 main excitation controller for the AC800PEC platform. It serves as the core processing CPU board for the UNITROL 6000 static excitation system—acting as the control “brain” of the entire system—and operates within the same rack alongside the PCD231 (CCI pulse interface), PCD232A (CIO integrated I/O), and GFD233A (LIN communication I/O). Widely used in excitation cabinets for combined-cycle gas turbine generators, it supports a 1:1 primary/standby redundancy architecture. It receives generator terminal PT voltage and CT current signals to perform closed-loop automatic voltage regulation and allows for switching to manual excitation current regulation mode. It establishes voltage prior to grid synchronization, maintains terminal voltage stability post-synchronization, and adjusts reactive power output in coordination with unit load. Additionally, it executes protection logic for conditions such as excitation overcurrent, loss of field, overvoltage, and rectifier bridge faults; upon detecting a fault, it issues commands to block thyristor pulses via the PCD231 and triggers the field discharge switch.
