The A6500-CC is the rack-level communication gateway for the AMS 6500 ATG machinery protection system; it is a 3U, single-slot, hot-swappable module compliant with the API 670 standard. It aggregates data from all acquisition cards via the rack backplane bus and provides multi-protocol network interfaces for external communication. Key point: The A6500-CC is responsible only for data forwarding, configuration, and storage; it does not participate in protection trip logic for vibration or axial displacement, as the hardwired protection loops are handled independently by the A6500-UM and A6500-RC modules. Designed to work with A6500-UM universal measurement cards and A6500-TP temperature cards, it is widely used in TSI (Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation) machinery protection cabinets for combined-cycle gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators.
