The CE4003S2B6 is a 16-channel analog I/O terminal block used with DCS analog cards (such as FX-316) or PLC analog modules to achieve signal conversion between field sensors/transmitters and control systems. It simplifies control cabinet wiring—through standardized terminal conversion and jumper wires, each signal type (AI/AO/TC/RTD) can be flexibly configured. It supports wire-free testing and independent fuse protection, and is the standard interface component for connecting 4~20mA four-wire transmitters to DeltaV systems in industrial fields.

  Function Description

Signal Transmission: Converts field analog signals (4~20mA, 0~10V, etc.) to DCS/PLC cards.

Loop Power Supply: Provides operating power (24V DC) for four-wire transmitters.

Module Power Supply: Powers I/O modules via fuse/power terminals on the terminal block.

Signal Types: Supports voltage (0~5V, 0~10V), current (4~20mA, 0~20mA), thermocouples, RTDs, four-wire transmitters, etc.

Wireless Testing: Test holes (I-C/…) are provided on the board. V-C) allows for measurement of loop current/voltage without power interruption or disconnection.

Each channel is equipped with an independent fuse, which also functions as a power switch. During maintenance, the fuse can be removed to replace disconnection.

Overvoltage/Overcurrent/Reverse Connection Protection: The power circuit has comprehensive protection measures.

Channel Positioning: 16 independent analog input (AI) channels, dedicated to receiving signals from 4-20 mA or intelligent field transmitters containing the HART protocol.

4-Wire Design: Since field 4-wire instruments are powered by an external independent power supply (such as 220V AC or an independent 24V DC), the instrument itself outputs an active 4-20 mA current signal. The internal electrical circuitry of the CE4003S2B6 terminal block is specifically designed for this type of “passive receiver,” preventing conflicts between the internal 24V power supply and the external instrument power supply, ensuring safe signal loop termination.

Redundancy Support (S2 Attribute): This terminal block supports installation on a redundant carrier, allowing field signals to be simultaneously routed to both the primary and backup VE4003S2B6 input cards, ensuring the continuity of core process flows.

Modular Installation: Designed as a pluggable module, it supports quick replacement and maintenance on Ovation I/O bases (such as 1B30035H01).

Compatibility: Works seamlessly with other I/O modules in the Ovation system (such as analog input/output modules), supporting system-level diagnostics and electronic ID recognition.

  Wiring and Installation Instructions

Wiring Method:

Each channel uses a four-wire connection:

+V: Positive terminal of external 24V DC power supply

GND: Negative terminal of external power supply (independent of system ground)

I+: Positive terminal of analog signal (4–20mA)

I-: Negative terminal of analog signal

Terminal Layout:

Module terminal blocks are arranged in channel order, usually in double rows, with 2 terminals per channel (signal + power).

Installation Requirements:

Install on an Ovation I/O rack (e.g., 1B30035H01) and secured with DIN rails.

Shielded twisted-pair cable is recommended for signal cables, with a length not exceeding 10 meters. The shield should be grounded at one end.

Unused channels should have their signal terminals shorted to prevent floating interference.

Expansion Capabilities: Can be mixed with other digital/analog I/O modules in the same rack for flexible system configuration. Typical Application Scenarios
