  VMIVME-7698-140 Other names:

Input/output module VMIVME-7698-140

VMIVME-7698-140 Analog Module

Digital quantity module VMIVME-7698-140

The VMIC series products were initially manufactured and developed by General Electric’s automation industrial production department, and later acquired by Abaco Systems. The functions of these devices include analog-to-digital or analog-to-digital conversion boards, central processing units, and a set of analog or digital input and output modules. The VMIVME-7698-146 module is built as a single board computer.

The VMIVME-7698-146 analog-to-digital conversion board is an electronic component with a analog-to-digital conversion module, whose core function is to convert input digital signals into analog signals. The principle of a digital to analog converter is that a digital quantity is composed of one digit after another, and each digit represents a certain weight. In order to convert a digital quantity into an analog quantity, it is necessary to convert each digit into its corresponding analog quantity according to its weight, and then add up the analog quantities. This way, the total analog quantity obtained corresponds to the given data.

The VMIVME-7698-146 analog-to-digital conversion board has been applied in multiple fields. In audio devices, digital audio signals are usually stored in digital form, such as CDs, MP3s, etc. However, in order to play audio in speakers or headphones, it is necessary to convert it into an analog signal, which requires the use of a digital to analog conversion board. In communication systems, digital signals also require analog conversion for transmission, and the analog-to-digital conversion board can convert digital signals into analog signals for transmission.

The VMIVME-7698-146 analog-to-digital conversion board has important applications in multiple fields, including but not limited to:

Audio devices: Digital audio signals are usually stored in digital form, such as CDs, MP3 players, etc. To play audio in speakers or headphones, it needs to be converted into an analog signal. The analog-to-digital conversion board converts digital audio signals into analog audio signals so that sound can be received by the auditory system.

Communication system: In a communication system, digital signals need to undergo analog conversion for transmission. For example, digital signals can be modulated using digital modulation techniques such as QAM or PSK, and then converted into analog signals for transmission by a digital to analog conversion board. At the receiving end, the analog signal will be converted back to a digital signal through an analog-to-digital converter (ADC).

The main component of the VMIVME-7698-146 analog-to-digital conversion board is a resistance switch network, which is usually controlled by the input binary numbers to generate a current proportional to the weight of each binary number at the input of the operational amplifier through the resistance network. These currents are added and converted by the operational amplifier to form an analog voltage proportional to the binary numbers.

In addition, the performance of VMIVME-7698-146 analog-to-digital conversion boards is usually measured by their accuracy and resolution. A good analog-to-digital conversion board should be able to provide smooth, low noise, and low distortion analog output signals. Its linearity is also an important indicator that describes the linear relationship between the output signal and the input digital signal.

The performance of DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) is mainly measured by its accuracy and resolution. A good DAC should be able to provide smooth, low noise, and low distortion analog output signals. In addition, the linearity of DAC is also an important indicator, which describes the linear relationship between the output signal of DAC and the input digital signal.

The VMIVME-7698-146 device is equipped with a Celeron single slot Socket 370 processor. Its designed operating system can support Windows NT and Windows 2000, followed by Linux, VxWorks, QNX, and Solaris.

The VMIVME-7698-146 module is equipped with a series of special features suitable for embedded applications. Up to 512 MB of IDE CompactFlash (optional) is available. There are three programmable 16 bit timers and a 32 KB battery powered SRAM. This device can support remote Ethernet startup and is equipped with integrated software optional watchdog timer (with reset)

VMIVME-7698-146 can support VMEbus P2 connection with HD/floppy disk drives. There is a PMC extension site with VMEbus P2 input and output. Supports PC MIP extension sites and VME64 mode (A32/A24/D32/D16/D08/MBLT64/BLT32).
